New blade for the Endurance E-3120 turbines.
Olsen Wings are soon ready for the final testing of a new wind turbine blade that are uptimized for the Endurance E-3120 turbines. It is the UK based company NorZet that is our partner in this project and Norzet hold the rights for selling the rotor solution for the marked.
Olsen Wings and Norzed are both very skilled companies when it comes to small wind turbine blades. This new blade is an upgrade mend for replacement of the original Endurance blades with their performance problems.
The new wind turbine blade is proven technology from a specialized company. We know our technology and the blades we deliver will not damage or lost its output over time.
It is optimized for this turbine securing exact performance – and a performance that has shown to be on same level or better. There will be no lack of output after short time as we have see with the passive pitching blades offered. The first test blades was mounted 3,5 years ago and has been performing with a high and stable output as expected on a test turbine in UK. After evaluating the aero dynamic performance we have closed the design of the structural part in the blade designing. So we now have a blade that fit perfect the Endurance construction without any over loading of the turbine
This new rotor has a tip brake system mounted, a feature that we have been delivering for 30 years in different configurations and for more than 6000 blades. This one will be an aero dynamic brake that in the same time will act as a help when the rotor stops during normal operations. This gives us a smoother braking everytime. It is as well a faile safe emergency tip brake meaning that if a fault occur in the turbine it will always end up that the tips will come out and the turbine is prevented from having an over speed.
We look very much forward to deliver more blades in UK and to have the possibility now to service all versions of the E-3120 Endurance turbines with the right solution – the one that perform as expected and the one that last for expected 20 years as all other blades from our production.
